The situation
Paper was slow, it was expensive, and in a regulated business it was a compliance risk. Buying document software was the easy part. The hard part was changing how thousands of people did their daily work, across teams that each had their own way of handling documents.
What I did
- Led strategy and cross-functional delivery of the firmwide paperless initiative.
- Researched how teams actually handled documents before anyone chose tools, so the new workflows fit the real work instead of the org chart.
- Designed the digital workflows along with the training and change plan, then brought 3,500 employees and 2,500 contractors onto them.
- Built a shared design system with the firm's developer and UX guilds, so new internal tools looked and behaved consistently from the start.
What changed
- An estimated $10M a year in savings.
- The training approach grew into digital training tools later used by more than 5,500 employees worldwide.
- In a later role as AVP of Business Innovation Strategy, I led the Salesforce redesign for institutional advisors, including a mobile app for their daily workflows.
Why it matters for your business
The software was the easy part. Adoption was the hard part.
AI works the same way. Tools don't change a business; new habits do. Every AI rollout I run now starts where this one did: with how the work really happens, and with the people who do it.
